Here one of my favorite spots in the Bernese Oberland. From the mountain village of Lenk it is only a short hike up to Siebenbrünnen (seven fountains), the source of the Simme river. For the more serious hiker a path leads up along the waterfalls to Flueseeli. But even if you're just looking for a cozy alpine hut, a cold beer and traditional Swiss food, the restaurant up at Siebenbrünnen is worth an excursion.

A bird's eye view on Stockhorn
A few days ago I was invited to a helicopter flight. We left Berne Airport to the east and flew a loop over the hills of the Emmental before heading towards the Stockhorn and Niesen. Guys, no need to say anything, if I show you those pics... Oh, and I can recommend this company: http://www.mountainflyers.ch

Friday evening: how about a fire at the river, a steak under the stars
Springtime. Here my suggestion for those who don't feel thrilled by the idea to spend Friday evenings in shopping malls, cinemas and bars. How about a cozy place in the woods, a fire and some juicy steaks unter the sky. Last Friday, my wife and I were facing this as an alternative to grocery shopping after a busy week in the office. Well, no need to explain why and how we decided... Location: Kander Valley ( 46°41'48.09"N, 7°37'51.87"E).
